On occasion, the Institute together with other leading organizations and regulators has undertaken studies on specific issues within the cleared derivatives industry.
Customer Asset Protection Insurance
An industry study conducted by Compass Lexecon on how customer asset protection insurance program (CAPI) might work in the U.S. futures industry and to evaluate the economic benefits and costs of alternative CAPI approach. The study was funded by the CME Group, Futures Industry Association, The Institute for Financial Markets, and National Futures Association.
The study was presented to Senate and House Agriculture Committee staff and other industry groups, and as testimony before the U.S. House Committee on Agriculture, Subcommittee on General Farm Commodities and Risk Management.
Recommendation for Best Practice in Order Entry and Transmission of Exchange-Traded Futures and Options Transactions
An industry-wide study of issues associated with order transmission and entry procedures for exchange-traded futures and options and the diligent supervision of the order transmission and order entry process by commodity professionals. The study was conducted by the Institute for Financial Markets and National Futures Association.
